Raipur’s Hotel Naresh Palace had become a den of gamblers, police busted it

Raipur: In order to effectively curb gambling, betting and cricket betting in the district, Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agarwal has prepared an action plan for all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police and Station House Officers, along with Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit, to take maximum action on it. Instructions have been given. On which the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit along with all the police station in-charges, apart from appointing informers in the police station areas, information is being collected in relation to gambling and speculators by continuously patrolling and collecting information.

In the same sequence, information was received that some persons are gambling by betting money in Hotel Naresh Palace located under Thana Ganj area. On which Additional Superintendent of Police City/Crime Abhishek Maheshwari and City Superintendent of Police Kotwali Yogesh Sahu were directed to station in-charge Ganj to arrest gamblers red-handed while gambling. On which, under the direction of senior officers and under the leadership of station in-charge Ganj, police station Ganj team raided Hotel Naresh Palace. During the raid, some persons were gambling in a room of Hotel Naresh Palace by betting money in cards. On which the team members arrested a total of 13 gamblers and seized cash amount of Rs.31,300/- and playing cards from their possession. It was registered and action was taken. The role of the hotel operator is also being investigated.
