Criticizing the incident in which some Muslims participating in the annual Urs of Hazrat Peer Syed Gulab Shahwali Baba Dargah on the night of May 13-14 were prevented from offering incense sticks at the entrance of the temple, Thackeray said that such an age-old ritual should not be interrupted or abolished. should not be done. The matter should be resolved through discussion.

He wondered what was the problem if someone was merely following old traditions. He said, is our (Hindu) religion so weak that it will make any difference if someone comes there.

Thackeray also pointed fingers at the social media for exaggerating such things, spreading misinformation and said that the police should ensure that there is no violence over such things.

He said, there are many temples and mosques or dargahs where Hindus and Muslims have been visiting since ages.. I have visited many mosques and many of our Muslim brothers also come to temples.. People live and grow up in mixed areas. , but there has been no problem…

However, he said that one should speak up when things are going wrong and cited his campaign against loudspeakers in mosques in the last two years and the construction of an alleged illegal island in the Arabian Sea near Mahim Dargah (Mumbai), which was demolished in March. was done.

‘Soon after alleged clashes following the incident of alleged ‘trespass’ at the temple in Yambakeshwar, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had ordered an SIT probe into the matter.
