Rajkot Race Course-2 likely to be launched before Lok Sabha elections
Rajkot: Under the Smart City Mission of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, Race Course-2 is being constructed on 150 feet Ring Road-2 of the city. Race Course-2 is being constructed here by the Municipal Corporation at a cost of crores for the last five years. This year, the entire project was nearing completion and opening during Diwali, but there is still about 10 per cent work left in Race Course-II, which will take about two months to open.
Vijay Rupani had inaugurated the project: Talking about the entire project, this project was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Also, the entire project was to be completed in 2022, but due to the Corona period, the construction work of Race Course-2 was delayed. In such a situation, the corporation officials were hopeful that the work would be completed before Diwali of 2023, but the work was not completed even before Diwali. Now this operation will continue for the next two months and it is also expected that it will be opened on January 26.
Estimated project worth Rs 1 thousand crore: Race Course-2 is being constructed under Rajkot Smart City. Whereas an artificial lake has been constructed here. Which has been named Atal Sarovar. Along with this, entertainment facilities including various park rides have also been kept for the visitors. Also, the estimate of this entire project is Rs. 1000 crores. It was inaugurated when Vijaybhai Rupani was the Chief Minister but it was to be fully operational in 2022 which has not happened yet. Now only about 10 percent work is left. To complete it soon, a notice has also been issued by the Municipal Corporation to the contracting agencies.
