Rape in lodge, accused arrested within 4 hours on complaint of Divyang girl
Rajnandgaon. The Kotwali police has succeeded in arresting the accused of raping a disabled girl within 4 hours of the complaint being lodged. The accused raped the victim in the lodge on the pretext of giving false benefits of the scheme. Then threateningly left the victim near her village and ran away. The accused is a convicted criminal in the rape case and after being in jail for 9 years in the case, came out of jail only 8 months ago. After coming out, he again carried out the incident of rape. Police arrested the accused and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
The victim is handicapped from right leg. On August 26, he lodged a report at the Police Station Kotwali. According to the complaint, on the morning of August 18, the victim was returning home with her father after filling the Noni Yojana form at Collectorate Rajnandgaon. On the way, a person came on a bike and after taking information from the father, talked about providing benefits of disability and MNREGA. Photos of some girls were also shown, whom he claimed to have benefited. Taking the Divyang victim and her father into confidence, he brought them to Rajnandgaon. Told to withdraw money from the bank. When the money did not come out, the victim and her father were taken home and left. On the morning of the second day i.e. 19 August, the accused reached the victim’s house. This time he took the disabled victim with him on the pretext of filling the form by assuring his father.
The accused took the victim to a lodge located at old bus stand Rajnandgaon and raped her there. By showing a knife, the accused threatened to kill him if he told anyone. Then left the disabled victim near the school in her village and ran away. After reaching home, the victim told everything to the family. He was taken to the medical college for treatment.
CSP Rajnandgaon told that on the basis of the complaint of the disabled victim, the accused was taken into custody on the basis of the description and name of the crime registered. During interrogation, the accused accepted the crime. The police team got success within 4 hours. Advance action is being taken against the accused. The accused had recently been released from jail after serving 9 years in a rape case.
