Rape victim reached SP office with petrol, attempted suicide
Kabirdham. The rape victim tried to set herself ablaze by sprinkling petrol on herself at the SP office in Kabirdham district. Accusing the police of not taking action, the victim sprinkled petrol on herself. Seeing the girl doing this, the female policemen and other policemen present there ran and snatched the petrol box and match box from the hands of the woman. During this, there was a scuffle between the girl and the policemen. However, after some time the police pacified the girl saying that action would be taken. At present, the Kabirdham police has sent the woman to Raipur, the site of the incident.
In fact, the rape victim made many serious allegations against the Pandatarai police of Kabirdham. The victim took a press conference in the capital on July 28 regarding the rape, assault and police not listening to her complaint. The victim told reporters that she had a love affair with a youth named Abrar Khan, a resident of Kabirdham. Taking advantage of the love affair, the accused pretended to marry her and had sex with her without her consent in a lodge in Raipur. Threatened not to marry if refused. When the relatives of the young man came to know about the stay of both of them in the lodge, all of them reached the lodge in Raipur and abused and thrashed the girl. At the same time everyone fled from there leaving Raipur alone. When the victim reached Pandatarai police station in the district to complain about this, the station in-charge misbehaved with her. The victim accused the SHO that he asked her to meet him alone. The victim also said that she has the audio of the conversation with the station in-charge.
