Raped for 6 months, neighbor arrested on woman’s complaint

Bhilai: In Durg district, a young man raped a woman living in his neighbourhood. After this, he made an obscene video of the woman and physically abused her several times, threatening to make it viral. On the complaint of the woman, Jamul police has arrested the accused Vikas Singh.

According to information received from Jamul police, a 22-year-old woman has lodged a complaint of rape. The woman had come with her husband to lodge a complaint. The woman told that her husband is a truck driver. She lives in the house with her 4 year old son, husband and father-in-law. On 23 May 2023, her husband had gone to Rewa in Madhya Pradesh with a truck. His father-in-law had night duty, so he had gone there. She was alone at home with her son at night.

At around 11 pm someone knocked the latch of his door. When he opened the door, his neighbor Vikas Singh (30) was standing in front. Vikas already knew that there was no one in the house, so he took the woman inside by holding her hand and threatened that if she made any noise, she would be infamous in the locality. After this he raped the woman.
