Ratna Bhandar repair work will begin very soon: Odisha Law Minister
Bhubaneswar: The repair work of the Ratna Bhandar (treasury) of Shree Jagannath temple in Puri by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will start very soon, informed Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan.
Speaking to the media persons about the repair work of the treasury, Harichandan said that the ASI has completed the inspection process and the State government has decided to slightly modify the standard operating procedure (SOP) for conducting the repair work.
First, the outer Ratna Bhandar will be repaired and later the repair work of the inner Ratna Bhandar will take place but a decision on conducting laser scanning of the inner chamber will be taken soon, the Minister stated.
He further said that special focus is being given to ensure smooth conduct of the rituals of Lord Jagannath and his siblings during the repair work. A detailed discussion in this regard was held with the servitors, he informed adding that the exact date for beginning the repair work will be announced very soon.
