‘Ready to create history in Telangana’: Congress
Hyderabad (IANS). Saying it is ready to create history in Telangana, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Sunday appealed to the people to vote for the party in the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections “to revive the dream of a golden Telangana”. vote for.
Claiming that the Congress government in Karnataka fulfilled its guarantees within 100 days, he said the Congress party does not make empty promises or ‘jumlas’ but makes history. It said, “Congress party is ready to create history in Telangana.”
The CWC alleged that nine years after the formation of Telangana, “the promise of Bangaru (golden) Telangana has been broken, betrayed by both the Delhi and Hyderabad governments”.
The party’s highest decision-making body issued an appeal to the people of Telangana at the end of its two-day meeting in Hyderabad and hours before a public rally to be held on the outskirts of the city, where it will unveil six guarantees for the people of Telangana. Will do.
“The struggle of the people of Telangana succeeded with the creation of Telangana state in 2014,” the appeal said. The people of Telangana hoped and desired for Bangaru Telangana, where they would chart their future with resources, water and employment for Nidhilu, Neelu, Niyugaalu – all.”
The CWC ‘proudly’ recalled the important role played by the party in the formation of Telangana state.
The CWC said with anguish, “UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh steadfastly heeded the voice of the people of Telangana, consulted every stakeholder and overcame every political challenge. Yet, nine years after the formation of Telangana, the promise of golden Telangana has been broken, betrayed by both the Delhi and Hyderabad governments. The dream for which people fought for Telangana has remained unfulfilled.”
It alleged that the resources of the new state, which were meant for its people, have been appropriated by those in power. The working committee said, “Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his family have established family rule and are turning a deaf ear to the voice of the people. “Instead of promising a bright future, they have pushed the state into the past by ruling like the Nizams.”
It said the Congress party has launched a public relations program against this misgovernance, starting with the Bharat Jodo Yatra when Rahul Gandhi traveled 405 km across eight districts. Thousands of people shared their experiences of the BJP governments in Delhi and BRS governments in Hyderabad, both of which enriched a select few at the expense of the poor, farmers, Dalits, tribals and minorities.
The CWC alleged that the Dharani portal was taking away the land rights of the Indira Gandhi era, especially the rights of tribals, minorities, Dalits and OBCs.
“Small entrepreneurs closed shop due to lack of support in a market tilted towards a few big corporates,” she said. Irrigation projects like Kaleshwaram have become a source of income for BRS-affiliated contractors, wasting huge resources but providing little water. The continuous privatization of public sector companies by the Modi government is reducing opportunities for aspiring and hard-working youth. At the same time, privatization of schools, educational institutions and hospitals by the state government is depriving people of affordable education and health. “On the contrary, the Congress Party has always worked for a strong and inclusive economy across India whose benefits reach all.”
It said, “The CWC shares the pain of our brothers and sisters in Telangana, and resolves to continue the struggle to fulfill the unrealistic objectives of the Telangana movement. The Congress Party’s track record in Telangana over decades reflects its commitment to an inclusive economy – through measures such as land rights, a strong public sector that gave impetus to the private sector, MNREGA and statehood.”
