Recruitment of 350 posts in mining, candidates upset due to non release of exam date
Korba. The recruitment process for 350 vacant posts of Mining Sirdar is stuck in various areas of SECL. After the postponement of the exam announced on June 4, the next date has not been fixed. While a long time of one and a half months has passed. Form filled 8982 candidates are waiting for the announcement of new date. SECL had informed about the postponement of the recruitment exam of Mining Sardar due to technical reasons.
SECL had invited applications to fill the vacant posts. After this, the date of examination was fixed on 4th June. But two days before this the exam was postponed. This was attributed to technical reasons. A candidate who filled the form for the recruitment examination said that those unemployed youths holding mining degree or diploma were given eligibility to apply who had taken training in underground mines. There was a demand to postpone the recruitment examination and fix the next date to give eligibility to apply for mining degree-diploma candidates taking training in opencast mines. SECL postponed the exam announced on June 4 citing technical reasons. SECL management says that the recruitment process will be completed soon. Since then, the expectation that the new date of the recruitment exam will be announced soon has increased.
14 employees of Gevra project will retire today: 14 employees of SECL Gevra project will retire on 31 August. It also has Fitter, Electrician, Senior Mechanic. Earlier on June 30, 73 employees of SECL Kusmunda, Deepka and Gevra had retired. SECL is at number two position in terms of coal production for the last two financial years despite the manpower decreasing year by year in SECL.
