Relief to Rahul Gandhi from Supreme Court, activists celebrate in Wayanad
Thiruvananthapuram (IANS). Congress workers celebrated in Wayanad on Friday after the Supreme Court stayed the conviction of Rahul Gandhi in a criminal defamation case.

The remark was interpreted as an attempt to draw out an underlying connection between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, fugitive businessmen Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi.
In some places in Wayanad, Congress supporters took to the streets to express their happiness and the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee asked all the 14 district units of the party to celebrate the Supreme Court verdict.
Three-time Congress MLA and Youth Congress president Shafi Parambil said it would be a huge achievement and people of Wayanad would definitely be happy. We all saw how people flocked to him when he (Rahul Gandhi) came to ‘his’ constituency after being disqualified.
Meanwhile, a crowd started gathering at the state party headquarters in the capital.
All eyes are now on how soon Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership is restored. It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Wayanad with a huge margin of more than four lakh votes.
