Reservation process for District Panchayat members and District Panchayat President

Under the chairmanship of Collector Ms. Richa Prakash Chaudhary, the proceedings of reservation of District Panchayat members and Janpad Panchayat President were done in the meeting hall of District Panchayat Durg today under the three-tier Panchayat General Election 2024-25. Collector Ms. Chaudhary, exercising the powers conferred by Rule 6 of Chhattisgarh Panchayat Election Rules 1995 read with Section 30 / Section-129D of Chhattisgarh Panchayat Raj Act, 1993, has determined reservation for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Other Backward Classes for the constituencies of District Panchayat Durg, Women / Open. The process of reservation for 12 members of the District Panchayat has also been completed. According to which seats have been reserved for area number 01 unreserved free, area number 02 OBC free, area number 03 SC free, area number 04 SC women, area number 05 unreserved free, area number 06 OBC women, area number 07 unreserved women, area number 08 OBC women, area number 09 unreserved free, area number 10 unreserved women, area number 11 Scheduled Tribe women and area number 12 unreserved women. Similarly, Collector Ms. Choudhary, using the powers conferred by the Chhattisgarh Panchayat (Upsarpanch/Chairman and Vice-President) Election Rules, 1995, has taken action for reservation of the post of Chairman of Janpad Panchayat Durg/Dhamdha/Patan of the district. According to which, the reserved category for the post of President in District Panchayat Durg is OBC (Women), for District Panchayat Dhamdha the unreserved category (Open) and for District Panchayat Patan the unreserved category (Women) has been kept unreserved.
