Residents troubled by drainage problem in Narayannagar area of Bhuj

Kutch: Despite office order, the sewerage scheme sanctioned under AMRUT scheme has not been implemented in Ward No. 08 Narayannagar Society of Bhuj Municipality. Due to which a very serious problem of drainage has arisen in Narayannagar. Then the local people reached the collector office today and submitted an application demanding a solution to the problem. But since last two years the sewerage problem of the society is becoming complicated.

Despite repeated warnings from local residents, no solution has been found till date. At present, everywhere in this society is filled with sewage water and there is a danger of spreading dangerous diseases. Although this matter has been published in newspapers many times, no solution has been found till date.

Presentation to get rid of the problem: Also, according to the local residents, despite informing the Bhuj Municipality officials and municipal servants of Ward No. 8, no solution has been found. No action has been taken till date, after the presentation the drain is cleaned only once, but the next day the same problem arises again. Then the local people had demanded that the municipal servants should visit this society at the ground level and find out the problem and take steps to solve this problem.

Fear of spread of diseases like dengue and malaria: Local Narendra Thakkar said that today the people of the society gathered and presented the problem before the application team in the Collector’s office and presented the solution. If this problem is not resolved soon, all the residents of the society will protest at the collector office. The residents of the area demanded that the problem be resolved quickly.
Therefore, due to overflow of sewage in this area, water mixed with sewage also enters the drinking water line, which is not suitable for health. Due to this, there is also a fear of spreading diseases like dengue and malaria.

Dissatisfaction among people due to lack of solution to the problem: According to local women, the epidemic is increasing in the area and it has become difficult to live due to the foul smell of sewage. Therefore, even after purchasing expensive houses and plots in Narayannagar, people are suffering from lack of basic facilities.

Bhuj Nagar Collector Office and Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board have also been represented by the local people several times, but the problem has not been resolved. Executive Engineer assured: Manoj Gurung, Executive Engineer, Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Bhuj Circle, said that the permission for the sewer line crossing the railway was pending for a long time, hence this problem has arisen. Now the sewer line has been approved under the scheme and discussions have also been held with the collector. This problem will be resolved next month in January.
