Jabalpur. Ministry of Railways launched ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) scheme with the objective of promoting ‘Vocal for Local’ vision, providing a market for local/indigenous products and generating additional income opportunities for the deprived sections of the society. Railways is promoting local products and encouraging craftsmen, weavers, artisans, potters etc. engaged in this work.
A total of 1134 OSOP outlets are operational at 1037 stations across the country as of November 9. In this series, stalls of one station one product as per NID design were set up at a total of 33 railway stations in the three divisions of West Central Railway, Jabalpur, Bhopal and Kota. In which OSOP outlets are operational at 20 stations out of 33 stations under the One Station One Product Scheme.
The objective of the scheme is to provide opportunities through skill development to local artisans, potters, weavers/handloom weavers, craftsmen etc. through provision of sales outlets at railway stations. The pilot project was launched on 25 March 2022 at 19 stations for 15 days. This may include artefacts, handicrafts, textiles and handlooms, toys, leather products, traditional tools/instruments, textiles, gems and jewelery etc. made by local artisans, weavers, craftsmen, tribals etc.
