Bengaluru: A retired school headmaster has surrendered before the police in connection with the sexual harassment case at Lulu Mall in Bengaluru. According to the police, investigation on Saturday revealed that Ashwath Narayan (60) used to molest young girls and women in the mall.
According to the CCTV footage of the mall, the accused had misbehaved with several women. He used to spend weekends in malls and take advantage of the crowd to touch women and youth inappropriately.
Police are suspecting that the accused headmaster has done the same in other malls also. The police are interrogating him further. The video of the accused sexually assaulting a girl in the mall went viral on social media, after which the police started investigation.
It is seen in the video that the accused man is deliberately touching the woman’s back in the games zone in a crowded mall. He was also seen misbehaving at another place. The victim did not protest after the rape. The video was uploaded to an Instagram account and went viral on social media, with the uploader stating that the incident took place at Lulu Mall.
The whistleblower had said, “The incident was recorded at Lulu Mall Funtura, Bengaluru. In the video, this man is doing such things with the women and girls nearby. When I saw him in a very crowded area, I became suspicious, followed him and recorded the video. We went to the security and complained about it, then we came looking for him but were unsuccessful. Informed mall management and security. They said that they will try to find that person and take action, such people should be ashamed.”
