Revenue Archives case: SIT arrested land mafia Makhan Singh from Bareilly
Dehradun (IANS). The SIT has got great success against the land mafia who made the records disappear from the revenue archives. SIT has made the first arrest from Bareilly in the form of land mafia Makhan Singh.
In fact, the city Kotwali police has made the first arrest in the case of missing letters from the revenue archives and replacing them with fake letters and taking possession of land worth crores in Rainapur.
Land mafia Makkhan Singh has been arrested from Bareilly. The accused is basically a resident of Pilibhit. He, along with other accomplices, tried to capture property worth crores.
In the past, the case of missing records from the revenue archives had come to the fore. In this, the file of more than 70 bighas of ceiling land in Rainapur Grant falling in Rishikesh tehsil had gone missing. In the case, the investigation was started by registering a case in the city police station on the Tahrir of archives employee Devendra Sundriyal.
Investigation revealed that the accused Makhan Singh, a resident of Pilibhit, along with other persons, made fake documents of the land and made the original documents disappear from the office and replaced them with fake documents. In the investigation, the City Kotwali police seized the records of the revenue archives and investigated it. It was revealed in the investigation that the fake document that has been put up has been put up in the name of Makhan Singh.
The accused showed that the land was bought from Premlal. In the evening, the police arrested the accused Makhan Singh from Bareilly, who was produced before the court on Tuesday, from where he has been sent to jail.
SP City Sarita Dobal said that the accused named in the case has been arrested. Soon others will also be arrested on the basis of enquiry.
Accused Makhan Singh is 70 years old, when the police wanted to interrogate him, he refused to tell anything to the police making various excuses. Now the police is ascertaining with which officer and employee the accused got the fake registry made and got the fake registry installed in place of the original registry. The police may soon arrest the conniving accused as well.
The matter of tampering with the registries is also under investigation in the registrar’s office. In this case, a case has been registered against the unknown on the Tahrir of the Assistant Inspector General Registration in the city police station. In the case, along with the land mafia, the officers and employees posted in the registrar’s office are also on the radar.
Since the formation of Uttarakhand till now, the police is engaged in the investigation of the deputy registrar and registrar clerks working in the first and second sub-registrar’s office. Here the land mafia along with the officers and employees did fraud in the registries/land records. The land mafia changed the ownership by manipulating the records and even the original records disappeared. According to investigation, variation in handwriting, ink, seal and page has been found in fake registries.
