Revenue department official arrested for taking bribe in Budgam
Srinagar (IANS). The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday arrested an official of the Revenue Department red-handed while taking bribe.
A statement issued by the ACB said that a complainant approached the ACB Srinagar with a written complaint against Fayaz Ahmed Shora, Senior Assistant and In-charge of Nazir Tehsil Office Khag. In this, he was accused of demanding bribe for early listing of his case of property dispute in the court of the Tehsildar concerned.
The case of the complainant is sub-judice in the court of Executive Magistrate First Class, Tehsildar Khag, the statement said. As per the complaint, the accused is delaying the hearing of the case. On requesting to expedite the hearing, he demanded a bribe of Rs 2000 for listing the matter.
The ACB informed, “During investigation, a team was formed which caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 from the complainant.
“The money was recovered from the accused on the spot. He has been identified as Fayaz Ahmed Shora, a resident of Beerwah, Budgam.
