Robbery worth Rs 65 lakhs, miscreant absconds after snatching jewelery bag from bullion trader
UP: In Rae Bareli on Sunday night, bike-riding miscreants looted bags full of jewelery from a bullion businessman. IG Zone Lucknow reached Tarun Gaba at around 11 am on Monday morning to investigate the incident of robbery of Rs 65 lakh. Along with inspecting the spot, the IG examined the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the town. The IG took information from the teams formed to uncover the incident. The IG said in a strict tone that in any case the incident should be exposed and the miscreants should be arrested.
Bullion businessman Ananth Kumar alias Golu Soni has a shop just about two hundred meters away from his house. Last Sunday evening at around 7.30 pm, the businessman was going home by bike after closing his shop. She had a bag full of gold jewelery in one hand and silver jewelery in the other. Meanwhile, a few steps before the house, two miscreants who were already waiting at the turn of Baksa Lane, stopped him at gunpoint.
Before the businessman could understand anything, the miscreants ran away on the bike after snatching the bag full of gold jewelery from his hand. After the incident, the businessman raised an alarm, but by then the miscreants had left. As soon as information about the robbery was received, police forces from several police stations along with SP Alok Priyadarshi reached the spot, but the miscreants could not be traced. IG Tarun reached Gaba on Monday to investigate the robbery incident that happened with a businessman in the town. When he inspected the spot, after interrogating the victim businessman, he directed the department officials to immediately disclose the incident. Seeing the strict attitude of the IG, there was a stir in the police department.
