Rockets fired from Lebanon into northern Israel again

Tel Aviv: Several rockets were fired into northern Israel on Wednesday morning, for which Iran-backed terrorist organization Hezbollah has claimed responsibility. According to Israeli Defense Ministry sources, the Iron Dome air defense system had intercepted the missiles directed at Israel and no casualties or injuries were reported in the air strikes.

According to Arab media outlets, Hezbollah claimed to have targeted Israeli military positions near a naval base in the area. Even though Hezbollah is firing rockets and missiles into Israel at regular intervals and retaliating, the likelihood of war in northern Israel remains low.

The US and Israeli governments had warned Iran and Hezbollah that if a war front was opened in the northern areas of Israel, the matter could get out of hand. Since Israel is already embroiled in a bitter war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the possibility of opening a northern front has been almost ruled out.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant has said that Israel is facing a multi-front war and that the war with Hamas could be extended for a few more months.
