Rolls Royce-oil tanker collision: Nuh police sends notice to director of Kuber Group
Gurugram (IANS). Kuber Group director Vikas Maloo and the rest of the occupants of the Rolls-Royce Phantom car have been served notices by the Nuh police to join the probe into the car-oil tanker collision that left two people dead on August 22.
Noted businessman Vikas Malu was one of the three passengers in the Rolls-Royce which was part of the 14-car convoy. The car, allegedly being driven at a speed of 200 kmph, rammed into a diesel tanker on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at Umri village in Haryana’s Nuh district.
The tanker driver and his helper were killed in the accident, while one of their companions was injured.
The deceased were identified as Kuldeep and Rampreet, both residents of Uttar Pradesh, while their third accomplice, Gautam, received serious injuries.
Gautam is recovering from his injuries at his home in Ujina, Haryana.
The occupants of the luxury car have been identified as Vikas, Tasbeer and Divya who were injured in the accident.
Police said that the injured car riders are undergoing treatment in different hospitals.
Confirming this, Nuh Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia told IANS that all the car occupants have been served notices under Section 41 of the CrPC to join the probe. His statement will be recorded after he is discharged from the hospital.
He further said that the details of the exact speed of the car would be available only after a detailed investigation.
The complainant, Munil Yadav, who is also an eyewitness to the accident, told IANS that, “The accident happened when the fuel tanker driver gave an indicator to take a U-turn on the Delhi-Mumbai route. The Rolls-Royce Phantom 200 km on the highway It was coming at a speed of more than 100 km per hour, due to which this tragic accident happened.
Vikas Malu’s lawyer is claiming that the Rs 10 crore Rolls Royce Phantom that met with an accident in Haryana was not on speed and the truck driver took a wrong turn, which led to the accident.
He said that before buying the car, Malu had taken it for a test drive and it was being driven by a driver who is an expert in luxury cars. Vikas was riding in it and was only watching the performance of the car.
