Runway length increased at Mana Airport
Raipur: The length of the runway of Mana Airport has been increased. It has now been increased by 966 meters to 3250 meters. Earlier the length of the runway was 2284 meters. Aircraft have started flying from this runway from today. The length of the runway has been increased to facilitate the landing of large and heavy aircraft.
Airport Director Dr. S. D. Sharma told the media that the runway was being tested for the last 7 months. During this time 5 types of tests were done. After this, the security system of the runway has also been approved. He said that the landing and take-off facility of large aircraft will be possible on the extended runway. And it will also be ready for international flights. Now this will increase the possibilities of air travel from Raipur to foreign destinations in the coming time.
Air services are being started from Raipur to new cities – Along with the runway expansion, air travel flights are being expanded. In view of the increasing number of air passengers and the festive season, air services are being started for new cities. Now new flights will also start from Raipur to Jaipur and Ranchi. These new flights are likely to start between September and November.
