It is noteworthy that India celebrates Hindi Day every year on 14 September. Hindi was declared the official language of India in the year 1949. India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had announced to celebrate 14 September as Hindi Day. Hindi is spoken in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Punjab in India. Apart from this, Hindi is also spoken and understood in Mauritius, Nepal, Fiji, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago.
