Sangareddy: Police arrested 10 people for attacking people to grab land

Sangareddy: The Sangareddy police have arrested 10 people for attacking people in Khammampalli Village of Munipalli mandal to grab a piece of land from their possession. According to Sangareddy SP Chennuri Rupesh, Atria Infra Pvt Ltd MD MRS Verma, a resident of Banjara Hills, struck a deal with Pendyala Harinath Babu, a resident of Kukatpalli, to buy 100 acres of land in Munipalli mandal for Rs 30 crore and provide basic amenities on the land. Also read NDSA final report on Medigadda may take more time However, Verma had registered 70 acres of land in Harinath’s name, which delayed the registration of the other 30 acres.

Meanwhile, Harinath found that out of the 70 acres of land registered in his name, 10 acres of land was also registered in the name of another person. To protect his land, Harinath had put up a fence around the land by appointing some personnel. Verma had called in about 10 goons to threaten them and stop the work. Verma’s men attacked Harinath’s employees and damaged the fence on May 26. Following a complaint by site engineer Gadiparthi Ravindra Babu, Munipalli police have arrested 10 people in the case. However, Verma and several others are still absconding. SP Roopesh has suggested people to settle their land disputes in court. He warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who resorts to such attacks.
