Sardar Singh, Rani Rampal appointed head coaches of sub-junior teams
Chennai (IANS). Hockey India on Thursday announced the decision to appoint former players, Sardar Singh and Rani Rampal, as head coaches of the sub-junior boys’ and girls’ teams, respectively.
The decision was taken by the game’s governing body after the 100th meeting of its executive board.
Sardar Singh will be the coach of the Indian U-17 boys team while Rani Rampal will be the coach of the girls team. Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey gave this information at a press conference in Chennai on Thursday.
On taking charge of the Under-17 Indian team, Rani said, “It is a short-term program for me. This sport has given me a lot and now it is my turn. I will try to play whenever I get a chance, I still have high expectations from myself. I still have a lot of hockey left in me. I will not give up.
