Sarees and firecrackers worth lakhs seized, caught by police during checking
Raipur: Police has achieved great success during checking in two different districts of Chhattisgarh. Here the police and district administration team have seized lakhs of rupees in cash, sarees and firecrackers. The first case is from Bilaspur district. Action has been taken at two places here. During the checking operation, police seized sarees worth Rs 2,28,000 from one place, while firecrackers worth Rs 1 lakh were seized from another place. The second case is from Korba district. Here the police have recovered three and a half lakh rupees in cash.
Taking action at Tifra bus stand in Bilaspur district, FST team of district election and Sirgitti police seized 285 pieces of saree from a bus. The sarees were being carried in the bus in two bundles. The value of the seized sarees is said to be Rs 2,28,000. Also, the suspect Ramkhilavan Sahu who was carrying the saree is being interrogated. At the same time, during vehicle checking, Hirri police station has recovered 47 cartoon firecrackers from a vehicle. The value of the seized firecrackers is said to be around Rs 1 lakh. When Ajay Nishad, a resident of Simga, who was buying firecrackers was interrogated, he did not present any valid document regarding the firecrackers. On this, the police took action against Ajay Nishad under the sections of the Explosives Act and arrested him. Deepka police station of Korba district has seized three lakh fifty thousand rupees during vehicle checking. Police seized this money from car number CG-10NB-0157.
