Sarees worth lakhs found from closed house
Bemetara. After the implementation of the code of conduct for the assembly elections, SST was formed in Bemetara district on the guidelines of the Election Commission of India to conduct the elections peacefully and transparently. And F.S.T. Monitoring team has been formed. As per the instructions of Collector and District Election Officer P.S.Elma, after the implementation of Model Code of Conduct, SST/FST monitoring team has been formed at the local level in various routes of the district.
In this sequence, FST was held last day. The surveillance team got information that many sarees and many boxes of sweets Sonpapadi were kept in a house in village Pipparbhatta of Bemetra Assembly Constituency 69. On receiving the information, the FST team went to the spot and found 50 big sacks filled with sarees and 120 boxes of Sonapadi in the room. During this, the FST surveillance team found a total of 10 thousand pieces of sarees worth around Rs 15 lakh and 120 boxes of sweet Sonpadi. Papdi worth Rs 6 lakh and Jumla worth Rs 21 lakh were seized and handed over to the expenditure audit team. During this time, FST monitoring team in-charge and other staff were present. It is known that SST monitoring team which is deployed 24 hours in the check post, SST/FST monitoring team has been formed to maintain law and order during the Assembly General Elections 2023.
