Sarpanch-Secretary committed a scam of 60 lakhs, villagers said – if not investigation not even a vote

Janjgir Champa: People of Dalha Podi village of Akaltara development block have threatened to boycott the elections. The villagers have taken out a procession in their village and announced not to vote. The villagers are upset with the sarpanch and secretary of their village. The villagers allege that the sarpanch and the secretary together have committed a scam worth lakhs of rupees, which is not being investigated. A complaint was also made two years ago to investigate the scam, but the district administration did not take any action.

After the announcement of villagers boycotting the elections, the District CEO is trying to hush up the matter by doing a half-baked investigation. But the villagers have instructed the candidates not to enter the village for campaigning if the investigation is not conducted with transparency.

Let us tell you that there are 20 wards in Dalha Podi Shankar village. There are around 5 thousand voters. According to the villagers, after the announcement of election boycott, the District Panchayat had assured action. Investigation was also started but till now the investigation has not been completed. The CEO of the Janpad Panchayat is now dilly-dallying on the matter.
