Search continues for missing people in Muzaffarpur boat accident, 3 bodies recovered so far
Muzaffarpur (IANS). Search is on for missing people in the incident of a boat capsizing in Bagmati river in Beniabad OP area of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Nearly 24 hours after the incident, three bodies have been recovered so far.
A police official said on Friday that the search operation was stopped after nightfall on Thursday. Since Friday morning, NDRF and SDRF teams are again engaged in the search operation.
He said that till now three bodies have been recovered, which have been identified as Majammad Azmat (4), Shamshul (40) and Pintu Sahni (22), son of Mohammad Naushad, resident of Bhatgama village. People from the district administration are also present at the spot.
It is noteworthy that on Thursday, a boat going from Madhurpatti to Bhatgama capsized in the Bagmati river near Beniabad. It is said that more than 30 people including school children and women were aboard the boat.
In this accident, 12 people including school children on the boat went missing. At least 20 people were saved by the villagers in the incident. NDRF and SDRF teams are busy searching for the missing people.
