Tamil Nadu: Alert issued for rain and strong winds until June 15; Meteorological Department issues warning.

Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu: Chennai Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for the coming days in Tamil Nadu. According to the department, there is a possibility of rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in many parts of the state till Monday (June 15). Especially in the western hill districts, delta districts and some areas of northern interior Tamil Nadu, the impact of the weather may be more visible.
In a press release issued on Friday, the Meteorological Department said that at present the atmospheric circulation is active in northern coastal Tamil Nadu and southern coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas. Along with this, a low pressure area is also formed over northern coastal Tamil Nadu, which is having a direct impact on the weather of the state.
Due to these weather conditions, moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in the western hill districts, delta areas, northern interior districts and Karaikal areas of Tamil Nadu from Saturday (June 13) to June 15. The department has said that incidents of lightning may also occur at some places during this period, hence people have been advised to remain alert.
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the farmers and general public to exercise caution while working in open places and adopt necessary safety measures keeping in view the weather conditions. Especially people working in fields have been advised to stay in safe places during rain and lightning.
According to the department, the weather will not be completely stable even after June 15. There will be a possibility of light to moderate rain at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal regions between June 16 and 18. Although the impact of rain during this period will be less than before, but cloudy conditions and intermittent rains may persist.
The Meteorological Department said that in view of the current weather system, the weather in the state will remain changeable for the next few days. Therefore, people have been advised to constantly keep an eye on weather updates.
After this alert, the administration has also become alert and disaster management teams at the local level have been instructed to be prepared. Especially in hilly and coastal areas, extra caution has been asked to be taken so that any possible accident can be avoided.
