Seized 1500 KG hemp worth 12 crores, smuggling to live a luxury life
Bengaluru. The Karnataka Police on Saturday seized 1,500 kg of ganja worth Rs 12 crore in Bengaluru and arrested two people, including an MBA graduate. According to the police, the main accused in the case is an MBA graduate from Rajasthan. The second accused hails from Andhra Pradesh and is a BA graduate. Police said that both had got involved in drug smuggling to live a luxury life. He largely procured ganja from local sources and sold it in several states. The accused had made a secret compartment in the Isuzu cargo vehicle, which was used to transport the ganja from the forests to various places. They also packed the ganja in Flipkart boxes to evade the police and they had different registration numbers for the vehicle. Officials of the City Central Crime Branch (CCB) conducted a three-week operation in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, to nab the accused. An FIR has been registered against the accused persons at Chamarajpet Police Station and a case has been registered under Column 20(b)(2) of the NDPS Act.
