Sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting his daughter

Hyderabad: A local tribunal on Thursday sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 500 for sexually assaulting his daughter in Jeedimetla. The man, Kumar (44), was in his home with the victim, who was 11 years old at the time, in November 2019 and had sexually assaulted the child. His wife was in a hospital attending to their son who was suffering from some health problems. The victim reported sexual aggression to the owner of the house, who filed a complaint with the police. The police registered a case under various sections of the IPC and POCSO Act. He was arrested and put in preventive prison. After the trial the tribunal dictated the sentence.
