Shepherd injured while trying to save cow from tiger attack in Asifabad
Asifabad: A 42-year-old pastor sustained serious injuries when he tried to save a cow from a tiger while grazing in the forests of Vanjiri village in Kaghaznagar mandal on Tuesday. Forest officials said Alluri Gulab Das De Vanjiri was shot in the left hand while trying to save a cow caught by a tiger in the afternoon. Gulab was immediately shifted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment. It is said that the tiger has been roaming in the forests of Charigaon, Narlapur, Nandiguda, Darigaon, Vanjiri, Malini, Shilapalli and many other villages around the forests of Kagaznagar and Sirpur (T) for quite some time. It has advised villagers living on the forest edge to enter the cotton fields only after 9 am and leave the fields before 5 pm. He collected cotton balls in groups and survived an unexpected confrontation with the tiger.
