Kanker: The elders of Kanker, who have seen 93 years of age, will vote for the first time. The name of Shersingh Hidko, resident of Bhainsakanhar (A) of Bhanupratappur assembly constituency, has been added to the voters list. After which he is ready to vote for the first time.

Ramsay Hidko, son of elderly Shersingh Hidko, said, “Father’s name has been added. He is now 93 years old. This year, the Voter ID card will be made and in the upcoming elections, father will cast his vote.” Regarding his name not being added yet, he said, “He lived away from home. Because of this, his name could not be added to the voters’ list.”

He said, the Collector has received instructions to conduct a door-to-door survey as part of the revision campaign. Survey was being conducted in village Bhaisakanhar. Then 93 year old Shersingh Hidko was found. When it was found that his name was not in the voter list, his name was added. The survey was conducted earlier also, but during that time the elderly voter had informed about the addition of his name. This time when I did the survey, his name was not in the voter list. Then I have added the name. There are three people above 90 years of age in the village.”
