Meanwhile, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international working president and senior advocate Alok Kumar also supported the apex court’s decision and said the historic verdict would go down as a tribute to the saffron thinker and founder of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh. , Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
Kumar said in a statement that with the special constitutional privileges for the erstwhile state under Article 370 now gone in history, the Center should now focus its attention on liberating Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The VHP leader said, “Now the only incomplete agenda in Jammu and Kashmir is to free Pakistan Occupied Kashmir from the clutches of Pakistan. We are confident that a strong India and a determined government will soon be able to liberate PoK.”
Affirming that Jammu and Kashmir has always been and will remain an integral part of India, Kumar said, “Today’s decision underlines that the Instrument of Accession signed by Maharaja Hari Singh in 1947-48 is final, valid and was irreversible. “Due to some political misunderstandings, the then political leadership had given special status to Jammu and Kashmir through Article 370.”
The VHP leader said he hoped that the ongoing development in Jammu and Kashmir would continue uninterrupted.
