Shobhita Dhulipala emerged as a household name with her performance as Tara Khanna in the famous web series, Made in Heaven. The talented actress earned immense love for her nuanced portrayal of the complex yet realistic character in the Amazon Prime series. Recently, Shobhita Dhulipala spoke with Galatta Plus YouTube channel about playing a grey-shaded character in Made in Heaven.

During the recently aired Galatta Plus Mega OTT Roundtable 2023, Shobhita Dhulipala spoke in detail about her character choices, and why she prefers to play a grey-shaded character in web series rather than films. According to the popular actress, the web series’ long runtime makes it easier for the actor to understand the character’s motive and establish an arc.

Shobhita Dhulipala said it is ‘scary’ for her to play a grey-shaded character like Tara Khanna from Made in Heaven, as she knows such characters eventually get reduced to a trope or a person with an agenda. But, it is easy to portray complex characters like Tara in web series who, whether liked or not, still connect with many people.

The actress said that such characters, which the audience doesn’t necessarily like but still connect with, exist only in the digital space. Shobhita Dhulipala revealed that she was offered characters with similar body types in some films, but she chose not to take those roles because they fell into a trope.
