Shri Ram’s Tilkotsav will witness the historical relations between Janakpur and Ayodhya

U.P. Lord Shri Ram’s Tilkotsav in Ayodhya will be celebrated with a grand event in Ramsevakpuram on Monday, November 18. This event is going to witness a special occasion to revive the sanctity of the historical relations between Lord Shri Ram and Janakpur. The organizer said that more than 300 Tilakharu (well-wishers) and special guests from Janakpur will be present in this religious ritual which will start with due rituals at 2 pm on Monday. This event will not only revive religious traditions but will also strengthen cultural relations between India and Nepal. Its preparations are in full swing.

The Ramsevakpuram complex has been decorated grandly for this special occasion. All arrangements are being made keeping in mind the traditional customs and cultural heritage. The arrival of Tilakharus from Janakpur has started from 16th November itself. Arrangements for their hospitality and stay have been made in Karsevakpuram, Abhaydata Hanuman Ashram, Vivek Srishti, Mata Saraswati Devi Mandir and Tirth Kshetra Bhawan. An 18-year-old youth will be dressed as Lord Shri Ram on the stage of Ramsevakpuram. Shri Ram’s form will be seated on a square or throne made of flour. The Tilakharus from Janakpur will bring traditional items like bronze utensils, yellow dhoti, towel, girdle, turmeric, sandalwood, paddy, grass, betel leaf, cardamom, betel nut, sacred thread and silver coins and will present them to the form of Lord Shri Ram during the Tilak ceremony.

In the Tilak ceremony, the role of applying Tilak as Sita ji’s younger brother will be played by the younger Mahant Ramroshan Das ji of Janaki Mandir, Janakpur. He will offer Tilak to the form of Lord Shri Ram amidst the chanting of Vedic scholars. In this grand event, Janakpur, Madhes Pradesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh will be present along with half a dozen ministers. Janakpur Mayor Manoj Kumar Shah and three other mayors of Nepal will also witness this religious event.

During the Tilkotsav, a group of women from Ayodhya will sing traditional auspicious folk songs of the Awadh region, which will make the entire atmosphere devotional. A special feast will be organized to welcome the Tilakharus. Delicious dishes like Aloo Tikki, Papdi Chaat, Chola, Rice, Puri, Mix Sabzi, Raita, Papad and Halwa will be served in it.
