Hisar : An elderly woman suddenly fell into a canal on Thursday evening in Hansi, Hisar, Haryana. There was about 9 feet of water in the canal. When a police sub-inspector saw a woman drowning in the canal, he jumped into the canal to save her and after a lot of effort he saved the woman. According to the information, on Thursday, 75-year-old woman Bimla, resident of Mochi Mohalla, had gone to the Siwani feeder canal located on Tosham Road to offer the havan material for Diwali. At the same time, Bimla’s foot suddenly slipped.

She fell into the canal. As soon as the woman shouted ‘Save, Save’, Traffic Police Sub Inspector Manoj Kumar, who was standing near the bridge of Hansi police station, reached the spot. Manoj Kumar saw his drowning wife and immediately took off his uniform and jumped into the canal. With great difficulty he pulled the woman out of the canal. Congress party leader Telu Ram Jangra, who was present on the spot, said that Sub Inspector Manoj has done a commendable job. He has demanded from the government and police administration to honor such Sub Inspector Manoj Kumar by encouraging him. So that other police employees and officers also come forward in such work.
