Tarpan method in Pitrupaksha

Whatever Shradh rituals are performed for the peace of the souls of the ancestors in Pitrupaksha, they should not get their hair and beard cut during this time. Along with this, only satvik food should be prepared at home during these days. Tamasic food should be completely avoided.
Importance of Pitrupaksha
It is said that the souls of three generations of ancestors reside in Pitrloka. Pitrlok is considered to be the place between heaven and earth. This region is ruled by Yama, the god of death, who takes the soul of a dying person from earth to Pitrloka.
