Sindhi Council Women Wing team worshipped Sheetla Mata and Jal Devta and ate cold food
Raipur: Sindhi Council organized Thaddi festival in Ram Mandir. People of Sindhi community brought food prepared from their homes and worshipped Sheetla Mata. They also got immersed in devotion by singing Sindhi hymn Thar Mata Thar and worshipped Jal Devta. The festival is celebrated on the eighth day of Raksha Bandhan to protect children from diseases and for their long life. On Sunday, no stove was lit in any Sindhi family.
In all Sindhi families’ homes, cold, stale food prepared on Saturday was eaten on Sunday. Before going to sleep at night, water was sprinkled on the stove and puja was done with folded hands. State President of Sindhi Council, Lalit Jaisingh, on this day, married sisters and daughters also come to their parents’ home and participate in the festival. Rashi Balwani of the Sindhi Council Women’s Wing said that we took a vow to Sheetla Mata that an atmosphere of happiness should always prevail in everyone’s home. Prayers were offered for this. After worshipping the Mata, everyone enjoyed the dishes brought from their homes. For the festival, sweet lola, ladyfinger, bitter gourd, koki, dal paratha, dahi vada, potato curry, gram flour koki, fenugreek parathas and other delicious dishes were prepared and brought. Rashi Balwani, Juhi Daryani, Riya Jaisinghani, Hema Jethani, Deepika Khemani, Anita Meghani, Mahak Vaswani, Kashish Khemani and others were present in the event.
