Singapore resident fraudster cheated a person of Rs 7.85 lakh
Noida (Uttar Pradesh): A Singapore resident fraudster allegedly cheated a person of Rs 7.85 lakh by promising him a profit of lakhs of rupees on the purchase and sale of spices in Gautam Buddha Nagar district.
Rita Yadav, in-charge of cyber crime station located at Sector 36 police station, said that on the complaint of the victim, the police have named Hyang-Soo and registered a case under the Information Technology Act and fraud section of the Indian Penal Code.
According to Yadav, complainant Shrivats Goswami, resident of Sector-144, told that some time ago a person contacted him from an unknown number and identified himself as Hyang-Soo, a resident of Singapore.
According to Goswami, Hayang induced the complainant to invest in various businesses by narrating his exploits and after taking her into confidence, the fraudster sent her a link and after the link was downloaded, an app opened on which she could buy spices and Suggestions were given to sell.
Quoting the complaint, Yadav said that the complainant bought the spices by investing ten thousand Indian rupees and got a profit of four thousand rupees on it. The profit amount was transferred to the complainant’s account shortly after.
He said that after this, the fraudster cheated the complainant of Rs 7.85 lakh more than 20 times by using different types of deception.
