Six Congress leaders join Bharatiya Janata Party in Silchar
Silchar: Congress got a shock in Silchar with many senior leaders bidding goodbye to the party and joining BJP. Two former municipality councilors Alok Kar, Arun Biswas, former GP president Ranjan Roy, former Silchar Town Congress vice-president Dilip Mitra and former Sonai Town Congress vice-president, retired professor Dr Nabendu Banik joined the ruling party.
Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty and District President Bimalendu Roy welcomed him ceremoniously.
Bimalendu Roy said, some more leaders and workers of the opposition party have expressed their desire to join the BJP and they will be officially welcomed into the party within the next few months. Shuklabaidya said, BJP’s doors are always open for anyone willing to work for the party
