Sixth battalion SSB seized tractor laden with illegal boulders from Bhutan border in Chirang district
Kokrajhar: 6th Battalion SSB on Monday seized three tractors laden with boulders without any valid permission at Samodvisa Part-II near Bhutan border under Runikhta range in Chirang district.
SSB sources said that based on an input, a patrolling party of G Coy located at BOP of Tukrabasti and Sonpur caught three persons with 3 tractor-trolleys loaded with boulders, which were issued by the Forest Department. The mines were mined illegally without legal documents. Sources said the seized items and arrested persons were handed over to the forest range office at Runikhata.
The arrested persons were identified as Pascal Champrameri (23), Clinton Champrameri (26) of Boro Nilibari village under Bengtol police station and Khaobala Basumatary (52) of Hadanpara village under Runikhta police station in Chirang district. The value of the seized items was estimated at Rs 12,90,000, which was later handed over to the Runikhata Forest Range Office.
