Smuggler smuggling ganja worth lakhs arrested
Sonbhadra. Police arrested two smugglers in Robertsganj Kotwali area on Thursday night. A car and 17 kg of illegal ganja have been recovered from their possession. Police area officer Rahul Pandey said on Friday that the police received information that some people were bringing ganja from Orissa. Based on the information, the police team arrested two people by setting up a blockade near Churk Kolhua at midnight on Thursday. During the investigation, the police recovered a total of 17 kg 115 grams of ganja in 20 packets, a car and two mobile phones. Police have arrested Ramesh Kumar Singh and Manoj Kumar Yadav, residents of Bhadohi district, in this case. In connection with the arrest of both, Robertsganj police station took action by registering a case under NDPS Act.
Police had also taken action two days ago
Raipur police station on Wednesday arrested two inter-state smugglers and recovered 27 kg of ganja. The police registered a case against both the accused under the NDPS Act and issued challan.
Inspector Brijesh Kumar Pandey, in-charge of Raipur police station, said that both the accused have been arrested near Khaliyari Pokhre. Of these, 14 kg ganja was recovered from one accused and 13 kg 700 gm ganja was recovered from the other accused. Police said that both the arrested accused, Abhay Kumar Paswan, son of Dinesh Kumar Paswan and Kundan Baitha, son of Subash Baitha, are residents of village Amethi Khurd Kabilashpur in Thave police station area of Gopalganj district of Bihar. Both were challaned. Inspector Brijesh Kumar Pandey, in-charge of Raipur police station, head constable Suresh Prasad, Ajay Kushwaha, Vipin Kumar Yadav were included in the police team that caught the ganja smugglers.
