Smuggler traveling in bus caught with drugs
Sundernagar. A 35-year-old youth resident of Hoshiarpur, who was traveling in a Punjab Roadways bus going from Manali to Chandigarh, was arrested by Salapad police personnel at Jadol in Sundernagar on the Kiratpur Nerchowk four-lane road.
A 35-year-old youth, resident of Hoshiarpur, was arrested along with 920 grams of hashish. A case has been registered against the accused under NDPS Act at Sundernagar police station and investigation has been started. According to the information, Chief Constable Lalit Kumar of Salapar Police Post and the team of other personnel Constables Harish, Rajesh, HHG Ishwar Das were setting up a naka at Jadol and checking all the vehicles coming and going.
Meanwhile, when a bus which was going from Manali to Chandigarh was stopped for checking, the youth sitting on seat number 36, Luv Kumar, aged 36 years, resident of Post Office Bassikalan Tehsil and District Hoshiarpur, got scared after seeing the Punjab Police.
The police investigated the young man on the basis of suspicion and during the search of the bag kept in his lap, a plastic bag was found in it, in which a total of 920 grams of hashish was recovered. Confirming the matter, DSP Sundernagar Bharat Bhushan said that the youth has been arrested along with 920 grams of charas, a case has been registered and investigation has been started.
