Spa centre owner and 5 others arrested, RTI activist was murdered a few days ago
Mumbai: Police have arrested five persons in connection with the murder of a ‘history-sheeter’ in a ‘spa’ in Worli area. The arrested persons include the owner of the spa and three people from Kota, Rajasthan. Officials have given this information. Officials said that on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, two people killed 52-year-old Guru Waghmare inside a spa. They said that Waghmare used to call himself a police informer and a Right to Information activist, although many cases including rape and extortion were registered against him.
Mumbai Police said that Waghmare had got the names of 22 such people tattooed on his body, from whom he feared harm. An official said that during the post-mortem it was found that he had got the names of his potential enemies tattooed on his thighs. The Worli police have also arrested the owner of the spa where Waghmare was murdered, an official said. The city police’s crime branch has arrested Mohammed Firoz Ansari, 26, from Nallasopara in Palghar district, and Saqib Ansari from Kota in Rajasthan, along with two other suspects, he said. “This is a case of contract killing. The spa owner had allegedly hired the accused to kill Waghmare,” the police official said. As per the case details, Waghmare, a resident of Vile Parle in Mumbai, used to visit the spa at Worli Naka regularly and was known to the people working there.
