Special arrangements on 15th August, metro services will start from 4 am
Delhi. In view of the 15th August Independence Day celebrations, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has made special preparations. To facilitate the travel of people attending the Independence Day celebrations, DMRC has announced special operating times. According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, metro services will start from 4:00 am on all lines from every terminal station. The metro will be available to the general public at an interval of every 15 minutes till 6 am on this day. After this, the metro train will operate as per the normal time table.
Sharing the information on X post, DMRC wrote, “On Thursday, 15 August 2024, in view of the convenience of the public to participate in the Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Metro will start services from all terminal stations on all its lines from 04:00 am. Train services will be available on all lines at an interval of 15 minutes till 06:00 am and thereafter the regular time table will be followed as on other days.” The post further read, “People having invitation cards issued by the Ministry of Defence to attend the Independence Day celebrations will be allowed entry and travel on production of valid government photo and identity cards at the stations. This arrangement will be valid only for Lal Quila, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk metro stations, which are closest to the celebration venue. The same invitation cards will also be valid for return journeys from these three stations only. Information will be shared regularly inside trains to inform passengers about these arrangements. Expenses incurred on such travel will be reimbursed to DMRC by the Ministry of Defence.”
