Speed up wheat lifting: DC Mohali

Reviewing the progress of wheat procurement in the district, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain issued instructions to officials concerned to speed up the lifting process at mandis.

Presiding over a meeting at the District Administrative Complex today, Jain asked officials to daily monitor the lifting operation in view of the possibility of acceleration in the arrival of wheat in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the officials told the Deputy Commissioner that till last evening, 2,454 MT of wheat had arrived at mandis and 128 MT of the grain had been purchased. Out of this, private agencies bought 72 MT of wheat while government agencies purchased 56 MT.
