Speeding ATM cash van hits bike, elderly couple and son-in-law die

Bhubaneswar (IANS). An elderly couple and their son-in-law died in a tragic road accident at Anandapur in Odisha’s Keunjhar district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Sahadev Behera of Ghasipura area of Keunjhar district, Chandni Behera and Abhiram Behera of Karanjia in Mayurbhanj district.

Sources said that the elderly couple along with their son-in-law were going to Chandni’s ancestral house on a bike when a speeding ATM cash van coming from the opposite direction hit the bike. The accident took place in Padmapur of Anandpur police limits.

The driver of the van fled from the spot leaving the seriously injured victims there. After receiving the information, police reached the spot and took the victims to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Police are examining CCTV footage to identify the absconding driver.
