Speeding dumper hits bike, two die on the spot
Kanpur. The havoc of the vehicle speeding on the bloody road came to light again. On Sunday morning, a speeding dumper hit a bike rider while overtaking in Ghatampur police station area.
The head constable and his companion riding the bike died in the accident. Police arrived after receiving information from passers-by and after informing the family members, sent the bodies for post-mortem. Along with this, the damaged vehicles were removed and the traffic started smoothly.
Santosh Kumar (55), resident of Syodhari village of Ghatampur police station area, was posted as head constable in UP Police. Presently he was posted in Farrukhabad Kotwali. Wife Shakuntala told that their elder son Ayush is staying in Kanpur and preparing for coaching.
On Sunday, after completing his duty, Santosh was returning home after meeting his son Ayush in Kanpur with his fellow sharecropper. Then as soon as they reached near Kushmanda Devi temple, the dumper coming from the front overtook and hit the bike riders. Both died in the accident.
There was chaos among the family members after the incident. Ghatampur police station incharge Vikram Singh said that after informing the family members, the bodies of both have been sent for post-mortem. The deceased head constable is survived by his wife Shakuntala, two sons Ayush and Abhay.
