State’s participation in the post-matric scholarship scheme – Social Justice and Empowerment Minister

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Tikaram Julie said in the Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday that the state government is also involved in the post matric scholarship scheme given to the students belonging to scheduled tribes and other backward classes. He said that this scheme is operated on the basis of participation of 75 ratio 25 between Central and State Government for Scheduled Tribe students and 60 ratio 40 for Scheduled Castes respectively. He said that through various 8 schemes like Gargi Puraskar Yojna, Indira Priyadarshini Yojna, Mukhyamantri Hamari Betiyan Yojna, Aapki Beti Yojna, the state government is promoting girl child education in the state.
The Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment was replying to supplementary questions asked by members in this regard during the Question Hour. Earlier, in a written reply to the original question of MLA Mr. Arjun Lal Jingar, the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment said that the Scheduled Tribes Post Matric Scholarship Scheme, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and Other Backward Classes Post Matric Scholarship Scheme, Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The jurisdiction is being operated as per the guidelines of the Ministry. The work of increasing the scholarship amount in these schemes is done by these ministries only. He placed the details of rules and norms of post matric scholarship on the table of the House.
The Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said that according to the information received from the Secondary Education Department, the idea of increasing the amount in the scholarship schemes given by the Girls Education Foundation is not under process.
