Steel traders troubled by power cut
Raipur: The steel trader of Chhattisgarh is troubled by the power cut in the capital Raipur. He says that Chhattisgarh is a surplus power producing state. Despite this, electricity is being supplied only for 8 hours in 24 hours in the steel plants of Siltara and Urla.
These industrialists are facing different types of losses due to power cuts. They say that the power goes off for so long that the molten iron starts solidifying again. The businessmen have demanded from the government that electricity should be made available to the steel industries without interruption.
Chhattisgarh Mini Steel Plant Association President Vikas Aggarwal said that the electricity department had cut power for 75 hours in the month of August. Which is close to 10 percent of the total supply. So, on the first date of September, electricity was supplied only for 8 hours in 24 hours. He said that power incentive means steel industry is a continuously running industry. If the electric supply is switched off. So there are many different types of damages caused by this.
